Dennis' Garden featured The Exponential a Chicago-based duo creating a rhythmic collage of global acoustic instruments electrified and layered with ambience and found sounds. Imagine dialing through stations of folk/tribal rhythms on an old radio. Ben Perkins with spurts of exaggerated sitar and haunting bass-like sounds on the rudra veena, a large stick zither with gourd resonators, and Brian Murray on percussion and live sampling creating hypnotic echoes of varied influences from trance, traditional, jazz and blown-out sound experimentation.
