In 1986 the lights were turned off permanently at the Golden City Cinema. The entrances were locked, the premises in darkness and closed to the public.
On 21st Dec 2020, with the permission of the cinema owner, the premises were opened for viewing to take photographs of the original building and layout.
The doors , thick with dust, opened into the silence of the empty space; the place had lain untouched for 33 years.
The passage of time with the accompanying shadows, and memories of past glorious years of the film world are framed in this 13-minute 17-second documentary.
The old cinema, a legacy of the golden age of the cinema in Seremban lives on in the memories of the more senior folk of the city.
