Richelieu Rock is an underwater limestone pinnacle located off the west coast of Thailand, in the Andaman sea, near the border with Myanmar/Burma. This isolated rock, located 39 km fromThailand's mainland and more than 18 km away from the Surin Islands, forms a partially closed-off ecosystem, covered in clouds of glassfish and juveniles in perpetual motion , and serves as hunting ground for massive resident schools of trevallies, scads, barracudas, emperors, rainbow runners and more, offering a unique, dazzling of firework-like predatory action...

アンダマン海の豊かさを思い知らされます。

À certaines périodes de l’année, certains sites du nord comme le célèbre Richelieu Rock (près de la frontière birmane) ou encore le sec de Koh Tachai Pinnacle sont entièrement recouverts d'alevins et de poissons de verre.
Et les prédateurs locaux (carangues. lysans, sélars, becs-de-cane, barracudas…) s’en donnent alors à coeur joie, offrant aux visiteurs des scènes mémorables: des nappes de poissons qui s’ouvrent et se referment au grès d'une prédation perpétuelle et, à la tombée du jour, de véritables feux d’artifice argentés ....
