Choice of music:
While I found the lyrics to "Goodbye" difficult to work with, the beat had me right away. It is like Dennis, really: stoic and unwavering. I decided to translate the break-up song into a 'monologue' between Dennis and the other identities; the lyrics depict his disturbed self-awareness ("I was just a bad dream") as well as the bad influence Patricia's beliefs have on him ("put down your lies"). The title is plain wordplay: Dennis trying to be good and Dennis' actions that need to be redeemed through death. Last but not least, you might have noticed The Beast's theme at the end of the song: Dennis' ultimate way out of his misery.
