Ma mère, Leïla, a 66 ans et pour la première fois elle va franchir le cercle polaire et atterrir à Kiruna, ville suédoise aussi mystérieuse que reculée. Elle va découvrir le Sápmi : territoire transnational du premier peuple autochtone d’Europe : les Sames. Ce voyage à l'extrême nord du continent lui fera revivre un autre voyage entrepris il y a 60 ans lorsqu’elle quitta sa Kabylie natale pour la France. Un monde insoupçonné va faire écho aux contes berbères de son enfance et aux combats pour la sauvegarde de patrimoines culturels menacés. A la frontière de l’imaginaire, dans un lieu où les repères spatio-temporels sont bousculés, nous plongeons dans un récit familial intime mais que nous sommes beaucoup à partager.

My mother, Leïla, is 66 years old and for the first time she will cross the Arctic Circle and land in Kiruna, a Swedish city as mysterious as it is remote. She will discover Sápmi: the transnational territory of the first indigenous people in Europe: the Sami. This trip to the far north of the continent will make her relive another trip undertaken 60 years ago when she left her native Kabylia for France. An unsuspected world will echo to the Berber tales of his childhood and the struggles to save endangered cultural heritage. On the border of the imagination, in a place where spatio-temporal landmarks are jostled, we dive into an intimate family story but that we are very much to share.
