Street Symphony celebrates a beloved friend, tenor Daniel Chaney. Daniel is one of the first members of Street Symphony's vocal ensemble, the Street Symphony Chamber Singers, comprised of world-class vocalists from the esteemed Los Angeles Master Chorale. Daniel is also one of Street Symphony's first Teaching Artists, generously offering lessons to a former Skid Row resident and tenor, Don Garza, also a Desert Storm combat veteran.

This is a short clip of Daniel singing "Comfort Ye" from our very first Messiah Project in 2016, at The Midnight Mission in downtown LA's Skid Row.

Video produced and donated by Steve Metcalf.

From the LA Phil website: Tenor DANIEL CHANEY has appeared with the LA Phil at the Hollywood Bowl singing the role of the Alchemist in Candide, and at Walt Disney Concert Hall as the first tenor soloist in the U.S. premiere of Magnus Lindberg’s Graffiti. Other solo appearances include the Los Angeles Bach Festival and the San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival. Daniel studied voice and horn at the University of Denver. Since moving to L.A. in 1995, he has appeared in over 80 productions with Los Angeles Opera. Now in his seventh season with the Los Angeles Master Chorale, he enjoys many solo opportunities with that group. Daniel has also sung on the soundtracks for many movies, including Avatar, Tangled, The Rite, Battle L.A., SALT, and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
