This symbolism-style 3D scene was made in the frame of the project Dimensions, 1st year Interaction Design course at Glasgow School of Art, using Autodesk Maya.
The glass sphere symbolises a human of the post-Soviet space, who indeed was born recently and is clean and fragile. They are inside a cage, there is a way to escape, but it is dark and unknown. That is why it decided to stay on the uneven surface. The sides of the cube have values in Russian language (almost like a program), parents were forcing to me since a very young age: live, learn, work, give birth to kids. Something that would work for older generation, but does not work anymore for modern people. Because of the dissonance between perception of how life is suppose to look to you, and reality, the ball is trying hard to reach something that is impossible. Standing on this uneven surface until it just disappears, and in the place of "what it want to be and how it want to live its life" depression is coming, what I decide to symbolise as black mold (black mushrooms).
