Audrey & Alex travelled from France to the magical Greek island of Crete for their dream destination wedding in the sun. They chose the beautiful Catholic church in the enchanting city of Chania for their moving ceremony followed by a fabulous reception party at the private boutique-style villa where they were staying. The happy young couple, who live in Paris, were joined by 30 of their family & friends as they celebrated their fairytale wedding day in Crete. Greece holds a special place in Alex’s heart as his father is Greek and so it was with extra joy that the couple chose to begin their new life together on this breathtaking island. After their touching ceremony the couple were showered with white rose petal confetti by their guests as they left the church.
The couple then took their first romantic walk together as newlyweds into the heart of Chania’s charming old town for an incredible professional photo shoot in the picturesque Venetian harbour. What an amazing backdrop! The stunning pictures speak for themselves…
Audrey & Alex travelled back to their villa for a fabulous reception party in a classic white Porsche Carrera wedding car, a particularly special detail to the happy couple.
Gorgeous flowers featured so prominently in the villa's wedding reception decor, which along with the romantic hanging lights created a wonderfully dreamy atmosphere. Beside the villa's pool the initials of the new Mr & Mrs in large illuminated signs shone brightly, just like the couple's love for one another.
Gold cutlery and blue goblet glasses graced the wooden reception dinner tables where a menu of traditional Cretan dishes was served, surrounded by lush olive trees. The meal was followed by the cutting of the scrumptious wedding cake, a delicious square cheesecake creation with a gold cake topper, complemented by individual mini strawberry, lemon & apple cheesecakes.
In keeping with Alex's Greek roots, traditional fried honey fritters were offered as authentic wedding favours along with cute jars of Cretan honey. A fun photo booth was the perfect addition to the wedding celebrations as was the cool cocktail bar with specially mixed cocktails to toast the newlyweds' happiness.
The evening's entertainment was an amazing combination of traditional Cretan dancers & live music from a first-class local band. An awesome wedding confetti machine sent cascades of white confetti over the guests as they danced & celebrated into the night.
One word sums up Audrey & Alex's idyllic destination wedding in Crete...timeless!
