“On Friday, March 13, 2015, Jarrett Earnest sat down with eminent image-maker Tim Whiten to discuss Whiten’s recent glass works, rhythm in drawing and music, and the textures of color and light. Surrounded by the African masks and glass figures that adorn Whiten’s home studio, the pair explored the rhythmic processes of breath, voice, and household labor that guide Whiten’s gestural art making. Earnest extended his visit to Toronto’s Cascade Crystal Studio, where Whiten creates his translucent glass sculptures, to view two new works-in-progress. Their filmed conversation will be available online as part of the second edition of MERIDIAN STUDIO VISITS online.”
