Recently, I packed up my crystal singing bowl and strand of little bells and ventured to a nearby trail. I found a place to sit by the stream and set up my singing bowl and strand of bells to offer blessings to the Earth. As I played my bowl and sank into the music and the ceremony, I was reminded of the circle of life, the cycles of Nature and life, and the connection of all things. I sensed that in blessing Mother Earth, we, too, are blessed because we are a part of Mother Earth and of Nature—we are her beings. It felt really beautiful, connective, and a reminder of our place in the natural world. Toward the end, when I picked up the bells overhead, I saw the treetops begin to sway as the wind picked up and it felt like a conversation with the wind, a response from Nature.
