Anna:

I wrote this song in 2016 as part of a (rough draft) score for a short-film entitled, Broken Noons, by Guillermo L. Vázquez. You can watch the film here: vimeo.com/274609572

I loved working with Guillermo, and that was my first opportunity scoring anything. The film went on to become the Official Selection of several independent film festivals. Actress Josi Lage was nominated for 'best actress' and myself 'best score' at the iFilmMaker festival in Barcelona. (I believe the festival was eventually cancelled due to the pandemic.)

'Anna' was never used in Broken Noons, but I kept this song in my back pocket -- as it was my favorite from the initial batch of songs I sent to Guillermo. "Anna" was the name of Josi Lage's character -- the protagonist of our film.

Recently Unboxholics used (my cover version of) Gustavo Santaolalla's The Last of Us Part II for their short film, Anna: a Last of Us Story. It's an incredibly well made, and well acted film. Again, the protagonist character is 'Anna'. You can watch the film here: youtu.be/fGF7_WM2a3k

Both of these short-films have been very helpful to my music career. I owe a debt of gratitude to both Guillermo L. Vázquez and Sakis Karpas (Unboxholics). This coincidence of the character "Anna" is why I'm releasing this song now.
