Meet my backyard Robin! Hes been singing for over a week, but yesterday he sang non-stop, from 5am - 7:30pm. I've never heard a bird sing that much. He was announcing his territory and hoping to find a mate. He was also preening while singing, to look as handsome as possible.

Today, he was really quiet and I wondered why. I looked out the window and saw him in the yard with a female. He won the yard, and the girl!

I'm also guessing he is young, and this is his first Spring at maturity. (He still has white on his belly, and under the chin. His black cap isnt completely solid yet). Im surprised he won the territory over the older robins who frequent my yard year after year. Persistence paid off for this young crooner! 4/3
