This video documents [SAT] Metalab research activities exploring the navigation of music listening spaces with 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DoF). In this particular demo, 3rd order Ambisonic sound sources are used to emit captured audio into a virtual listening space. Presented are techniques that combine the three nearest sources to the listener in order to render a spatial listening perspective that corresponds to the listener’s 6DoF pose (position/orientation) in the space. This research has been conducted by Zack Settel and Nicolas Bouillot, with audio files and capture provided by Zylia (zylia.co/).
