O come, O come, Thou Holy Spirit into the heart of this sinner.
 O bring, O bring the boon of life.

Anupallavi:
I am burdened and wandering in this world perplexed.
Enter into my heart in the fullness of Thy grace.

1. In ignorance, I have become blind,
In deception of the body, I am lost and suffering.
Just as Thou didst come down on the day of Pentecost showing Thy glory,
So also grant me Thy grace today,
And give me beautiful boons, O Lord of truth.

2. Seeking the joys of this world I have become a sinner,
Disobeying the commands of the One God,
Living in the company of sinners.

I have not said “No” to sin’s pleasures;
That is not finished, my dear Love;
Come into my heart o Lord of love.

3. I have no merit in myself;
 I come with shame to Thy feet,
Accepting the sacrifice of the Lord of Life and
Because of His merit, 
Grant Thy comfort to this sinner who is seeking Thee in humility.
