Another sample of my early work on my debut LP with Sera Schwarz. Like its preceding track on the album, "A Weight (Wait)", still in its demo stages, exhibits much of the project's larger aesthetic intent: It is composed out of a concoction of familiar and unfamiliar musical elements, all strung together by wide harmonics and shifting song structures that pivot on spoken narrative. This piece in particular exemplifies the project's use of difficult-to-place sound collage/found-sound over vocal harmony, as well as its volition to push the boundaries of conventional "dance music" towards more modern ideas, tones, and lyrical content. The closing section, unofficially titled "Carthage", displays the project at its most essentially alien: Swirling, wordless vocalizations pan between musicalized spoken word and sound art collage in all-enveloping glorious flame.
