Day 19. Have Yourself a Merry-Go-Round Christmas

Merry-go-rounds can really put the Merry in Merry Christmas! New York is home to more than a dozen great carousels, and some are open year-round. I visited three this year, plus made a musical merry-go-round one of my special Macy's purchases. So this little video celebrates my joyful rides on the Bug Carousel and the SeaGlass Carousel, plus watching others enjoy the ride at Bryant Park.
The SeaGlass Carousel is absolutely magical, and a wonderful ride in Battery Park that costs $5 but is worth it in the years I shed while riding it! The Bug Carousel in the Bronx Zoo was included in the price of my Holiday Lights ticket, and was a return to childhood, especially since the night I went I rode all by myself!!!
(The Central Park merry-go-round, which I wrote about in a Topics of the Times editorial in 1992, was closed when I visited recently. And the Coney Island and Pier 62 carousels are seasonal, as are other great rides in the city.)
