Synopsis

Long - awaited Majid Majidi's new feature tells the story of Yusef, a 45 - year - old professor of literature.

Having lost his eyesight when he was little, he has lived in the darkness. Now, he just enjoys a peaceful life with his wife and daughter.

But when he visits France to get treatment for some other illness, his eyesight, in a bizarre twist, is regained. Back home, how can he reconcile what he has seen in his heart so far with reality?


The film received the awards including the best director and the best leading actor at the Fajr International Film Festival in 2005 in Iran.
