Nothing in this turkey makes any sense. The idiotic screenplay seems like the product of a delusional fourteen-year-old who badly flunked middle school science (see note). At times the actors appear to be stunned by the juvenile dialog they're forced to spout. As for production values, the astronauts' acceleration couches are poolside recliners. You've been warned.NOTE: The authors were Fred Gebhardt (story) and De Witt Bodeen (screenplay). Both were adults at the time. Gebhardt also wrote the story for "The Phantom Planet," which at least has the virtue of being entertainingly bad. It's available here at IA.
CAST NOTE: Silent film star Francis X Bushman's next feature film role would be in "The Phantom Planet." He continued acting in films and on television until 1966.
