PJ, Photi and I went for an early morning sail at Swartvlei from Photi's place in the NNW of the berg wind in front of the approaching cold front. By 09:00 these was a solid, albeit gusty, 15-22kts wind coming down the channel at Swartvlei. I was sailing with a Simmer SCR 7.8 and a JP Superlightwind 92 and then switched to a RRD XFire 114l as the wind picked up. After a while the wind suddenly dropped and switched to WSW, leaving me stuck on the North Western side of the vlei. Fortunately I managed to walk to the western side of the vlei and then limp back to Photi's place before needing rescue from Photi in his pontoon (which I was grateful to see). despite the gustiness of the wind it was still a fun session.
