There are 3 applications of interaction design that I personally feel very drawn to.- Design for needs, design for joy and design for future.
Design for needs.
Designers don’t just solve problems, but also discover them. And discover opportunities in them . And show the world a better way of doing even the most mundane routine tasks even when no one thought there should be a better way of doing it. But I am not talking just about the first world needs such as faster deliveries and one tap payments. Even when we live in a world where we have self-driving cars and apps to do our laundry, many developing countries such as mine are choking in contemporary social issues such as lack of education, pollution, complex healthcare systems and war. And Interaction design has the power to find opportunities for improvement in these problems to create solutions. Solutions that are inclusive where the needs of the most illiterate or poor along with the needs of the educated and rich are taken care of.

Design for Joy
When we talk about better future, it doesn’t need to be gloomy and boring. In fact, it needs to be the exact opposite.
Creating interactions that are functional as well as delightful and fun is the best positive experience we can provide as designers. It is easier to make a boring app. Only an great designer can think beyond the functional aspect of a interactions. My goal is to be one.
Design for future.
We live in a time where the technology is progressing at a speed we ourselves cant keep up with. So the only way is to stay ahead of it and think ahead for solutions for the future. We need to be able to think beyond profitable digital products and commodified services, to think about sustainable solution for future. Therefore, my goal in pursuing this program is to acquire specialized skills in Interaction design to become a well-rounded designer and strategist fully prepared to create solutions for today and tomorrow. .And I am positive there is no better place that will prepare me for this than California College of Arts
