Synopsis: A girl just moves in with a new roommate and everything seems to be going great, until the girl takes one of the roommates precious belongings and things go south

The girl steals her roommates prized possession causing her to get poisoned.
3. How does a non-diegetic visual element change our understanding of the narrative?
The flash-forward at the beginning of the film helps the audience to understand that something is about to happen to the girl. This leads the audience to want to know more about what happened since all you saw was her dead on the ground.
4. How did you meaningfully rearrange the plot's temporal order?
I purposefully but the end of the film at the beginning because I wanted to grab the audiences attention and have them wondering "why is she dead on the floor?", "what made her fall out of the chair?", and "did this incident have to do with the title of the film?". Starting from a point of confusion for the audience with little to no background helps them get more engaged with the film.
5. How does your film demonstrably move from restricted to unrestricted narration? Why did you do this?
The film starts with a restricted narration from the the flash forward sequence of the girl falling out of her chair and dying, this is all from the roommates point of view which the audience doesn't know yet. We then switch to unrestricted narration towards the end when the roommate pours poison into the girls drink without her knowing, so in that instance the audience and the roommate are the only ones that know poison is in the girls drink. I did this because I thought it would be a fun guessing game for the audience to try and figure out why this happened to the girl, only to realize that they are the only ones who know about the poison.
