Starring Simon de la Brosse, Dominique Pinon, Charles Schneider, Yves Afonso, Geraldine Pailhas and Toni Librizzi this surreal comedy follows the paths of three best friends (the arcandiers) who imagine ideal lives for themselves if only they can get to Brazil. The title description "arcandiers" refers to a French term that in English is similar to "rogue." You know the type -- they spend more time coming up with schemes to make money than they do earning it.
After being nominated for a Cesar award in 1992 (for director Manuel Sanchez "Best First Feature Film") this work was shelved in France for almost three decades. Recently dusted off, with English subtitles, the film is soon to make its way to world audiences. Enjoy this taste of things to come.
