Steven J. Dell, MD: "Well, I would be delighted to have people make fun of me for being an alarmist, but we've stocked up on about 3 months of nonperishable food. We have water for an extended period of time. We have perimeter security, we have a water purification capability, we have the ability to function off the power grid. And that's at the extreme end, that's kind of your basic survival skills type stuff. But I also loaded up on supplies of hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin, and zinc. All three of those have been increasingly shown to be helpful. I don't think you can still find hydroxychloroquine, maybe you can but it's be going to be really tough to find. And I started thinking about well, what would we need if everything fell apart?"

Blake Williamson, MD: "I started plaquinel [hydroxychloroquine], just based off honestly just talking to Bill Trattler [another LASIK surgeon] and some of the studies out of France and also a Belgium in other places. It's important to stress, these aren't randomized control trials, they're not proof, but they are promising. And when I called some my infectious disease buddies from medical school some of them said, maybe a good idea from prophylaxis, some said no. Most said but we don't know for sure, but they all were doing one thing and that was stockpiling it and they were getting it ordered to their hospitals. So, that kind of spoke volumes to me. So basically, I did a loading dose yesterday of 800 milligrams and I was going to take 200 milligrams BID for 5 days, just only because it stays in your bloodstream for a long time. I'm not taking zinc my understanding is that's helpful if you're zinc deficient, and I don't know if I am or not but that I'm not taking that."
