I enjoy the images from my artwork that I sculpt them in clay, bisque in a kiln, then prepare each sculpture with combustibles and minerals. To begin, I collect wood, pine cones and needles, dried banana peels, and lots more to create layers of burnables in a pit dug into the soil. The layers surround each clay piece. I build a fire inside a brick wall around the pit. As the fire burns down, it is covered for several hours, smoking and smoldering. When the pit cools, it is opened and the ashes explored for sculptures. Fun, intriguing and exciting every time.
