When I got a new 3D Printer I had some problems getting it to print at first. When searching the internet for a solution I found Octoprint, which interfaces with the printer over a raspberry pi. It worked perfectly and the stats where great to see on the computer. So I thought maybe I could create a nice Userinterface for it after finding that there is also a nice api to use for that.
This is the current result:
It lets you upload, select, delete, print, pause, restart, and stop a print. You can also set the temperature of the printbed and nozzle.
But the feature that was the most fun to see how it works was the live preview of the print.
The Userface is written with Python PySide2 and OpenGl.
The custom viewer supports pan, zoom and rotation and is quite quick as it only updates the vector offset of the gcode file not push it to the graphics card every time a new fileoffset is received.
Sadly obs seems to hate the detail of the viewer and the compression destroyed all detail. Maybe I'll upload a better version later.
