Driving Rim Rd. / FR 300 from Arizona Highway 87, along the Mogollon Rim, east to Arizona Highway 260. The first 40 miles are dirt; the last three paved. I've hiked many of the canyons along Rim Rd., today including Barbershop Canyon ( vimeo.com/628213255 ). The west end of Rim Rd., particularly from Milk Ranch Point, past Kehl Springs, to General Springs, has been rutted and bumpy in the past. But the road work done in 2020 has held up through winter 2020-21, and even summer 2021's record setting monsoon. Not counting stops -- including one at Woods Canyon Lake for beer & Good Humor ice cream :-) -- I made the drive in a little under two hours.
