MISS ASWANG is a horror-comedy short that combines Filipino mythology and a seemingly-sad birthday.

For most of her life, DI VILLANUEVA has rejected her Filipino background. This denial is linked to the absence of her mother, who abandoned DI and her father soon after she was born. On her sixteenth birthday, however, DI is suddenly able to see an ASWANG—a particularly annoying one, too. Her day is then filled with figuring out how to rid herself of the creature. In doing so, she must figure out if she is willing to dig that deeply into her background, and whether or not she is finally willing to accept it.
