This shot has been a pretty fun process, I enjoyed my time working on it! The blocking stage took the most time, with new ideas coming in back and forth as I move on to the other stages of animating. The walking to idle was replaced with a leap (followed by the mask closing after) to idle to make the shot more clean and swift.

The glowing trail from the mask is actually just polygons, adjusting the vertices to match the movements of the head every frame. The scene setup was a challenge as well as I had to find the correct angle and focal length of the camera to match the character select screen, and also the composition had to be good silhouette wise too.

The rig is by no means perfect and I'm no good with vfx or lighting, so this will do; I'm pretty satisfied nonetheless! This took a week to complete, inclusive of rigging and adding sound effects.
