Incredible slopestyle performances, the legendary Halfpipe Night Finals and an unique freestyle spirit - that’s the biggest snowboard event in Europe: LAAX OPEN! American rider Julia Marino and Sebastien Toutant from Canada stunned spectators on Friday during the Slopestyle finals, before on Saturday the sun went down and the stage was set for Queralt Castellet (ESP) & Scotty James (AUS) - the LAAX OPEN 2020 Halfpipe champions! As if the setting wasn’t already perfect with a halfpipe that the elite snowboarders were highly impressed by, snowflakes were falling when riders were getting ready to drop into the Halfpipe. This created even more stunning images of snowboarders seeming to hover through the night. Queralt Castellet pointed out how special it was to win in LAAX: “I’m super stoked. A dream came true winning here in LAAX.” Since decades LAAX is all about Freestyle and everyone on the mountain clearly felt that spirit: the very first LAAX OPEN TAG TEAM Crossover Slopestyle Session took place on Saturday, a new showcase with freeskiers and snowboarders riding the upper section of the course. The true spirit of Freestyle sports was on display, as it was all about having fun riding together with your buddies. Spectacular riding combined with the party at Hangar up on the mountain followed by even more entertainment in rocksresort with MIA. live in concert – all of this made the LAAX OPEN 2020 an event to remember.
