For my animation, I chose to focus on the emotions of a bored, young boy; and tried to show a scenario where he becomes entertained. My animation was loosely based on the mantra “Enjoy the little things”. I used an adapted version of the character from my poster for children, so I tried to cater this animation to children as well; using simple character features, simple plot line and ‘fun’ animation. Wanting to simplify the character design and mise-en-scene of the video was not only dictated by the audience I was trying to cater to, but also the effectiveness of emotion. I chose to show a full close up because this would be the most impactful to the audience, and from the sound you can tell he is in his backyard or somewhere outside. The sound in my animation is very important to the storyline as he reacts to the sound of the dragonfly before ‘we’ or ‘the audience’ see the bug. Mainly, I wanted the audience to feel entertained and intrigued by my animation. I faced many difficulties animating as I have never used any of the creative cloud softwares before, but I am very proud of what I have produced.
