This was a really fun project I was able to carry over from previs to final animation for a few of the sections. I was told about the project when I was flying home, so I drew out my own 2d boards on the flight to pitch to the client. They're extremely rough, but combined with the brief and my description it was enough to get the conversation going and you can see that several elements carried over pretty well.

A few notes on each section:
Horses. They had riders at first, but were removed to be more of a herd. I ended up writing a herd script to help offset anim, vary the riders and so on as some of the initial idea was a huge count of characters, but it was toned back. The script was updated to just randomise horse run cycles that was keyed by another animator based on my staging with proxy horses.

Car Chase. The cars were just supposed to chase after one another, but I had just moved to the UK, so I had the traffic reversed, which made the hero car go against traffic. Was a fun idea so we ran with it. Was fun animating this and making the camera blend work between the two shots.

Underwater. This was just supposed to be fish swimming around where bubbles became stars, but in the end, it changed to the angular fish done by another animator, I think that was a good choice.

SciFi battle. I had a lot of fun with this bit. It went through way more iterations than the others about how the ship would enter, the UI style, explosion count, swarms, and tons of Logo reveal variants. Was fun though, light scene, got to play around with swarms more (pulled some tech from this vimeo.com/382965951 ) and wrote a ship trails and laser fire system I ended up using to mock up a shot on Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker years later.
