Good morning and welcome to the Daily Dish. Today is Thursday, April 23rd, and it is a blue day.
Over the past two days, I played BINGO with our Kindergarten and 1st-grade students during their lunch. The ultimate highlight is seeing their faces and hearing all that is happening in their lives, especially the amount of outdoor play they are enjoying. Some of the best conversations occur after BINGO is over. I have heard stories of students going on hikes, riding bikes, (Alex is now riding without training wheels), and Jack is assisting his dad in building a retaining wall, which means he gets to use a shovel!
I had a fun discussion about celebrating a sibling’s birthday. I have received suggestions on the ultimate list of family games that my family should play after dinner. I heard the great news of a student finding out he is going to be a big brother.
Getting to spend this time with our students each day, to hear these stories is precisely what I needed. These conversations reinforce how much goodness there is all around us.
