A special engagement screening will be hosted by the Coronado Island Film Festival on July 13, at 10AM, at the Village Vintage Theatre in Coronado. The event will mark the San Diego premiere of the final cut of “Ruta Madre” Saturday and will be followed by a Q & A with cast and crew members in attendance for this feature screening. An award-winning indie comedy, Ruta Madre features “Shadowhunters” heartthrob David Castro as Daniel, a heartbroken singer who reluctantly accompanies his lunatic uncle on a high jinx-filled ride from San Diego to southern Baja, Mexico.
