'Aurora' is a song I wrote over two years ago which appeared on my debut album 'Blue City Dawn.' (Released June 30) It is about an urban girl pursuing her artistic dreams despite the inevitable disillusionment she experiences. It is about the big things which provide inspiration and the small things that get you by.
Now, the visuals: they are from the visionary silent films of Walter R. Booth. He was a part-time magician who became a pioneer of motion pictures. When you watch the video you'll be able to see the influence he had on people like Steven Spielberg (ET) and David Lynch. (Twin Peaks: The Return: Episode 8) to name just two. The movies are about the thrill of discovery of film as a medium. And robots! Magicians, knights, etc. They are fun -- and their sense of wonder is a perfect match for Aurora.
