Nissan's infamous S13 has lamented itself as one of the most versatile cars on the road today. Whether a daily driver, track terror or show car the S Chassis can do it all. With its lightweight body and potent turbocharged two-liter engine, it makes for a monstrous combination. This 1995 180SX is a great example of just how good this is as an all-around package. From an aesthetic standpoint, this one has been kept relatively tame with simply the addition of matching white Buddy Club P-1 Racing wheels. The "shark nose" front end is synonymous with the 180 and arguably the best-looking factory front that they offered. One thing to note that's hard to tell in the photos is that all four corners have been rolled and pulled. While still all stock bodied, it does make for a nice subtle touch. They appeared to have done a rather good job on the pull as there are no paint cracks or chips that can often result from the job. The Crystal White (326) paint is in great shape with few blemishes to report other than your typical clear coat scratches and stone chips. The bodywork looks just as good with very minimal dents or dings from its 26 years in service. Then again, with only 63K verified miles it comes as a little less of a surprise.

The interior welcomes you with an excellent condition reclinable Recaro Confetti which provides far more support for spirited driving than the stocker did. Unlike most of the aftermarket seats, the side bolster is in good shape, which typically is the first thing to go. The stock passenger seat is also in surprisingly good condition, free of any seam splits or bad stains. As for the rest of the interior, there isn't too much to comment on. Quite obviously the back half of the car has been stripped for weight and has been given a bolt in half cage. The cage offers some additional safety and chassis stiffening without being in your way like the full cages tend to be. Because of the lack of sound deadening the car is a good bit louder inside than what a stock one would be. On the flip side seats forward everything looks a bit more traditional. The Italvolanti Formel wheel is a nice upgrade, it almost looks as if it could have been a factory optional piece. While the radio is inop, it would have had little function here stateside. Luckily since the wiring is all in place it would be a simple swap to something a bit more current and compatible. The rest of the power accessories like the locks, windows, and automatic climate control are all functioning as they should. Of course like all S13s the dash does have its typical cracks, however, the Shevron dash cover does a nice job of dressing up the interior and covering up any future issues.

Fitted with the only proper motor for an S chassis, the SR20DET. The aluminum two-liter has been outfitted with all of the basic bolt on's you would want, but nothing to make reliability an issue. With such low miles the SR feels strong right off of idle and has no issues pulling to that 7.5K redline. The power delivery is smooth and the car certainly scoots. There's no wonder as to why the larger KA is routinely ditched in favor of this lightweight powerhouse. In order to ensure that the turbo is never short on fresh air, an open intake and aluminum front mounter intercooler were fitted. Aside from the performance gains, it definitely gives the front end the aggressive look that it deserves. Outback a full custom exhaust route out through a HKS Ti-Limited muffler gives the tone that you expect to hear. At idle the car is more pronounced and under load, it really starts to open up. Adjustable coilovers get the ride height dialed in and offer more control when the road gets twisty. Paired to a proper 5 speed make this car an absolute blast to rip around in. The transmission is smooth and more than adequate to handle the power it's making. All of the routine service work has been performed to make sure the car is running in tip-top shape. Four fresh new tires keep you planted, new inner and outer tie rods, a quick brake bleed, and a routine oil change have it all back in order. Now that it's been fully serviced its new owner shouldn't have anything to worry about for quite some time. This nimble chassis doesn't need an insane amount of power to be fun. Thanks to its lightweight, high revving, nature this would make for an ideal weekend toy or for when you want to spice up your morning commute.
