Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Japan’s tourism and hotel industry have suffered greatly. Recognizing the need to pass the rich history of Amami Oshima’s traditions, architecture, villages, and culture to the next generation, DenPaku offers lodgings that give people a peek into what it’s like to live on the island. With unique buildings that harmonize with nature and its residents, DenPaku has gloriously evolved into the perfect place for a “workcation.”
This short promotional movie showcases DenPaku’s ideal “workcation” through the eyes of Megumi Sekine, an actress and YouTuber. This docufiction captures the one week that Megumi spent on the island where she organically intertwines her “on” and “off” time, and her “input” and “output.”

◯Synopsis
Megumi visits Amami Oshima from the city. Making the modern beach villa and renovated old Amami-style house her working space, Megumi interacts with the locals as she tours the island.
As mysterious dreams fill her nights, Megumi’s thoughts start to deepen as she breaks from her old self.
