As part of our 2021 Annual Conference, we will be screening ‘Warriors’, a 60 minute documentary that explores the lives of Bradley, Paul and Ryan, once boys, now men who grew up in a care home called Ballikinrain, near Stirling – a place for children who had been abused. The film examines how the ‘system’ has helped or damned them. Bradley is convinced that Balikinrain is the place responsible for ruining both his and his friends’ lives, but after revisiting the home, he wonders whether this is really the case…
This film will be followed by a Q&A session with Stephen Bennett, the BAFTA award winning director behind Warriors and Kirsty Giles, a Psychotherapist with the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit and will be featured as part of Thursday’s programme.
