What once was, has become a memory too distant to hold on to.  

Under the Weather follows a young woman in isolation and a state of depression, as she recalls her happiest moments, in an attempt to drown out her sadness. As she showers, these memories fill her mind, alleviating the pain she’s enduring, however this relief only lasts momentarily. Despite her countless attempts, in the end, she cannot escape her reality.

This short film provides insight into the mental health issues that many people have experienced throughout Melbourne’s lockdowns, particularly those who have mental illnesses. It conveys the feelings of isolation, sadness, and longing for what once was.

The protagonist of this short film is Elise Chan, and it includes the song ‘The Bad Wake’ by Monolog Rockstars (freemusicarchive.org/music/monolog-rockstars/retina-ost/the-bad-wake)
