Baghdad is a 17-year-old skater from Freguesia do Ó, a working-class district in São Paulo, Brazil. She is a tough, confident girl who respects those who deserve it - the others can fuck off. She spends her days with the boys in the skate park, and as much as she identifies with the boys, she is not afraid to call them out when they cross the line. The women in her life are equally as strong and independent as herself, and when she meets a group of passionate skater girls, her life takes an unexpected turn.

De Souza’s film gives us an original take on themes around identity, sexism, and discrimination, as well as a refreshing depiction of solidarity and rebellion.
