An experimental and performative film ‘A HOUSE PLACED IN BETWEEN – poetry in the comfortable grey zone’ (aprx 35mins) questions upon notion of property, territory and home. It is created based on artistic research on several narratives in and around an occupied embassy of Democratic Republic of the Congo in the Hague, where Takeuchi lived and worked between 2011 to 2016. The building has been used as both a private home and a communal event space by a collective of different people (mainly artists) since October 2010, when the new Dutch law was put into force in order to ban squatting activities.
While reflecting upon how the residing artists try to find meanings in their lives in this ambiguous political space, the film is foremost Takeuchi's personal contemplation and thoughts journey upon above mentioned event. Furthermore, it is also a commentary on the post-colonialism of the modern society that we are part of.
