A rough first cut! Will probably only end up being a quarter to half my end product. Real interesting context to be making my first video.... ever. I'm going to try to encapsulate our current global status by demonstrating some of my own subjective London experiences. The song and music video featured is 'In The Afternoon' by MGMT, my most played song abroad. The movie extract is from Super Dark Times, which I saw towards the tail-end of February. When I came into this project I wanted to explore just how blatantly music can manipulate moving images. I'm also really fascinated by the editing to close the clip as the main character yanks his headphones out - it's like he's being pulled from a daydream. My overall goal is to simply further explore the weird, weird intersection between a global pandemic and my own personal art consumption - how art can interfere with the way we perceive any given situation; spending months in a foreign country, a pandemic, etc.
