Dana Rabea Jäger is a Berlin-based artist, originally from Duisburg (Germany). Currently she is studying a Diploma in Fine Art at UdK Berlin. She exhibited in several group exhibitions around Germany and won the Anna-Oppermann-Prize in 2018. Many of her projects consist of working with digital and analogue photography, film and mixed media. Dana tells her stories through a feminists perspective. The exploration of sexual needs and experiences, dealing with expectations while growing as a woman, had her questioning social norms such as the concept of monogamy and its traditions.

The short film is about a young woman walking through her neighbourhood in a wedding dress. She faces several comments and reactions from people while walking the streets. The film plays with the construct of marriage as a form of entertainment within the western world. The symbolism of the bride placed into unusual settings could be interpreted as a display of empowerment.

How can one find empowerment in the repeating images and expectations one is confronted with? How can one find an individual way to resist the pressure of society?
