-Title of Project: The Most Blessed and Glorious Tree of Infinite Fantasy
-Statement of Intent: The aim of our project is to use light to create a dynamic, ever-shifting lighting composition to compliment and highlight the complex topography of the tree in order to map its intricate, individual history. Using programmable lighting strips and tubes controlled from a central CPU brain suspended with wire and plexiglass framework, we want to follow the contours of the trunk and branches to illuminate to create infinitely versatile permutations of the many separate leaves and branches as the light shifts in color and intensity.
-Team Listing & Biographies:  -Andres Hernandez-Garza, Born in Austin, grew up in Monterrey, MX. He studied Music Production at Tech de Monterrey and afterwards went into production coordination and design, working for multiple music festivals and corporate brands as diverse as Tecate, Red Bull, Heineken, Amstel, Mary Kay, Coca Cola and TAF. He recently moved back to Austin to co-found the lighting and design firm Neon Tiger. -Cole Evans has lived in Austin for the past 15 years. After attending School at UT with a focus in film production, he went into carpentry and interior remodelling immediately after. He is currently the co-owner/designer/builder of the downtown nightclubs Coconut Club and Neon Grotto, the coffee shop Cuatro Gato and is the co-founder of Neon Tiger.-Brian Almaraz moved to Austin 15 years ago after attending Texas State University, where he majored in studio art, with a focus in sculpture, painting and drawing. He is currently the co-owner/designer/builder of Coconut Club and Neon Grotto, the coffee shop Cuatro Gato and is the co-founder of Neon Tiger.-Bruno Vazquez is a recent transplant to Austin from Monterrey, MX. After 17 years as a firefighter, he joined Andres Hernandez-Garza as his head installer and electrician for all of his various productions. He currently works with Neon Tiger as the co-head installer, having worked on local projects such as Coconut Club, Neon Grotto, Cheer Up Charlie’s, Creek and Cave, 77 Degrees, Rose Room and a number of installations.-Jorge “Ninja” Ramirez is a recent transplant from Monterrey, MX. Starting out in the music world as a DJ at age 18, he quickly got into lighting design and programming, doing everything from nightclubs, festivals, corporate activations and installations. He is currently the co-head installer at Neon Tiger, having worked on local projects such as Coconut Club, Neon Grotto, Cheer Up Charlie’s, Creek and Cave, 77 Degrees, Rose Room as well as a number of installations.
