Il primo lungometraggio dell'artista Valerio de Filippis sprofonda nel sordido dell'animo umano, in una rivisitazione surreale e perturbante di un grande classico.
Il protagonista, Riccardo Duca di Gloucester, fratello del Re Edoardo IV, attraverso una lunga serie di delitti elimina tutti gli ostacoli che si frappongono tra lui e il trono d'Inghilterra.

Valerio de Filippis, nato nel 1960 a Pozzuoli (Napoli), vive e lavora a Roma. È un affermato pittore che da sempre evoca la figura umana indagando il rapporto tra luce, corporeità e psiche. Inizia la sua ricerca artistica nel 1980, lavorando a Bruxelles nel 1992 e a Berlino nel 2014. Parallelamente studia cinema, teatro e musica. Dal 2004 si avvicina ai nuovi media: computer-art, installazioni, video e opere concettuali.
“The Mirror and the Rascal” è il suo primo lungometraggio.

Valerio de Filippis’ first feature film goes deep into the human soul in this surreal and disturbing reenactment of a great classic.
The protagonist, Richard Duke of Gloucester and King Edward IV’s brother, does away with all the obstacles that come between himself and the throne of England by committing a series of crimes.
Valerio de Filippis, who lives and works in Rome, was born in 1960 in Pozzuoli (Naples). He is an accomplished painter who has always evoked the human being scrutinizing the relationship among light, corporeity and psyche.
He started his artistic career in 1980 and he has been studying cinema, theater and music simultaneously. He also worked in Brussels in 1992 and Berlin in 2014. Since 2004, he has come into close contact with the new media: computer art, installations, video and conceptual plays.
“The Mirror and the Rascal” is his first feature film..
