The G.W. Zoo in Wynnewood, Oklahoma is the world’s largest private zoo featuring over 187 big cats. The zoo is operated by founder Joe Schreibvogel, a.k.a. Joe Exotic, the self-described “gay, gun-carrying redneck with a mullet.” The "Life Exotic" was the first feature-length documentary on the Joe Exotic, released in 2016 prior to Schreibvogel's arrest and conviction on charges including a 'murder for hire' plot to kill a rival zoo-keeper.
