On September 12 2021, 1428 Atlantic white-sided dolphins were herded in to the shallow waters of a narrow coastal inlet in the Faroe Islands and slaughtered.

It was largest number of dolphins ever killed on one day in the history of the Danish islands.
The practice is a Faroese tradition known as "grindadrap" or the "grind."

Hunters surround the whales and dolphins with boats and jet-skis and drive them into a bay to be beached and killed with knives.

Campaigners have set up a petition demanding that the UK Government suspends trade agreements with Faroe Islands until all whale and dolphin hunts banned.
