I've been so pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy the Canon FD 70-210's macro ability. When at 70mm, the focus ring allows you to keep turning into macro mode, allowing for very nice close ups of things. It's not quite as close of a focus distance as my EF Canon 100mm L, but it's still very good and certainly has a distinct look. Check it out.
