An environmental Christmas tale.
I was testing a Black Magic Cine Camera over Christmas and Blackmagic Design's proprietary editing software, Davinci Resolve. I'm still clumsy with Resolve. It took me three or four times to edit compared with FCPX or Premiere. Maybe, it shows. Despite, I think it is a great piece of editing software. It is just is tough having to start learning a whole new package.
About the video, I left home thinking I will record a few takes of Zac running on the beach to test the camera and lens match. Also, how difficult I would find it to handheld shots. Ill advised, I didn't take with me any sound equipment and, of course, we came across the tree. I can't resist a story. I took a few shots of the tree and recorded the interview sound on camera. Unfortunately, it shows. Not because of the camera, because I should have, at least, taken a hand recorder with me. On the other hand, had I not taken a camera, the story would have never been told.
