The documentary is about artists and culture influencers, who were born in the
Soviet Union and have experienced the dark shadows of the era of Stalin, the
disaster of Perestroika, and the uncertainty of Russia’s political situation.
These people share their stories of how their works came into being and what’s their
relationship with the cultural tradition of Russia and its atmosphere. The
backgrounds for the major breakthroughs of the society and the art are
supported by the Professor of Russian Studies of the University of Helsinki,
Timo Vihavainen.
