LECTURE BY GULNARA ABIKEYEVA

Gulnara Abikeyeva is president of the Association of Film Critics of Kazakhstan, member of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards Academy, FIPRESCI and NETPAC. Her work as artistic director at International Film Festival Eurasia in Almaty from 2005 until 2013 was awarded in 2016. She edited and contributed to film journals, as well as TV programmes about Kazakh cinema. She lectured in the US and the UK and is the author of several books about Kazakh and Central Asian cinema. Together with Birgit Beumers, she is co-editor of “Cinema in Central Asia”. She lectures on film history and theory at Turan University in Almaty.
